Dear Cep,

Thank you for the " Snippets". I have this information..as you can tell I have researched fairly well from the time my " James Sach" born 1810 (son of William and Maria) committed the Crime of Sheep Stealing from William Patmore in Takeley.

In the year of 1841 when the UK Census mentions ( Second James, son of Robert and Frances born 1812 ) My James Sach/Saich ( son of William and Maria( name change here) was married on 1st April, 1841 @ St. Matthews C of E Church. Windsor. New South Wales. Australia... so I can validate all this information with Certificates etc;... herein lies my "Brick Wall" I can[t find his parents and other siblings.

I think perhaps you may be right that any additional information I may purchase from Chelmsford will be of little use to me... but Cep.  where do I go from here looking for my " James's" parents and siblings??????.. am interested in what List members thoughts are on the 1837 Online Census.. could this be the way to go beside other suggestions I have received.

Hoping someone may give me a clue. I will of course check out the information on Robert Sach/Saich that was given to me earlier... I am very grateful for all the help I have been given thus far and will check everything out.

Till Later. Cheers.

:) Hello Malcolm... So happy you found the story interesting...for some reason I can't stop looking for " My James" it's like an obsession to find out what happend to him and even more about his family and siblings...Perhaps he is watching! haha...

I have not seen that site you mentioned before, and will most certainly check it out, as every little piece of this puzzle will unfold eventually..

Have a wonderful day and ' Thank you" for taking time to read my article and your response.

Hi Faysie.
              I had a look at 1821 census for Writtle(near Chelmsford) today. There are 3 Sach families but they only state the heads name. They are Robert(age 41-50) & wife(age 51-60) no children.  William (41-50) & wife(41-50) & 3 children.   John(61-70) & wife(51-60) & 3 children.
I have a copy of the 1845 Post Office List for Takeley & it shows James Saich as a shopkeeper.
If you want copies let me know.

:) " Happy Easter Malcolm" to you and yours....

Thank you for your post... it is interesting? Firstly the James Saich listed in 1845 Directory as a shop keeper is not my James.  this James Saich was Baptised 08 March 1812 and his parents were Robert and Frances. he is also listed in the 1841 Census aged 30 as a Grocer...Also in 1845 my " James " was out here in Oz, married with 3 sons...As you can tell I have to be so very careful as there were two Sach/Saich families in the area at the same time...related????? perhaps.. too early to worry about that until I can verify my own details first.

This is the information that I have on my James. and know nothing else. this is why I am trying to search for my " James's " parents and siblings...

Robert & Susanna/h Sach ( nee Bridge) my GGGG Grandparents. were married @ Takeley 07 May, 1776. Their Children were.

John. Baptised 10th May 1778
Susanna Baptised 09 January, 1780
Robert Baptised 18th September, 1783
William Baptised 02 April, 1786 ( This is my GGG Grandfather )
Mary Ann Baptised 16 March 1789.

I am led to understand that this family lived at Brewers End on the Hatfield Broad Oak Side... I know nothing else about them...

William- Baptised 02 April, 1786 ( my GGG Grandfather) married Maria Day @ Takeley 10 November 1805. Their Children were.

James Baptised 25 April, 1810 ( My GG. Grandfather and also Convict transported here to oz.

Robert Baptised 18 September 1814
John Baptised 16 March, 1817
Mary Baptised 11 June, 1820

There are a couple of things that could have happened and why I am not having much luck in tracing the family.

(1) They could have lived outiside the Village of Takeley and only came for Marriage, Baptism's and Burials... The records I have given are from Holy Trinity Church in the Village. Is there anywhere else in the Hatfield Broad Oak or Brewers End area that I could reseach????

(2) My James at time of offence was aged 17 years. he could have been working and living on a farm around the Village when the Crime was committed in December 1827, away from his family ?????.

I simply do not know where else to look??? perhaps the key is to somehow obtain a copy of my " Jame's"s Baptismal record... it may show some information there... not sure how it works over there... but if this were possible it may help me...

There one other clue.. there is a Burial recorde of a " Maria Saich: buried 26th January, 1826 aged 48 years.... this could be my GGG Grandmother as the age seems possible and checking the Baptism of her husband William. in 1786.

I do hope that you may be able to either help meor guide me in a direction.....Again my " Thanks" I really appreciate what you have done for me...

Till later.

Somehow I can't seem to locate my James's family as you can tell from the previous messages I have left... have you any suggestions???? I am wondering if???? his parents and siblings lived at Brewers End.. Hatfield Broad
Oak side and only came into Takeley for Church activities.l
