" Happy Easter Malcolm" to you and yours....
Thank you for your post... it is interesting? Firstly the James Saich listed in 1845 Directory as a shop keeper is not my James. this James Saich was Baptised 08 March 1812 and his parents were Robert and Frances. he is also listed in the 1841 Census aged 30 as a Grocer...Also in 1845 my " James " was out here in Oz, married with 3 sons...As you can tell I have to be so very careful as there were two Sach/Saich families in the area at the same time...related?

? perhaps.. too early to worry about that until I can verify my own details first.
This is the information that I have on my James. and know nothing else. this is why I am trying to search for my " James's " parents and siblings...
Robert & Susanna/h Sach ( nee Bridge) my GGGG Grandparents. were married @ Takeley 07 May, 1776. Their Children were.
John. Baptised 10th May 1778
Susanna Baptised 09 January, 1780
Robert Baptised 18th September, 1783
William Baptised 02 April, 1786 ( This is my GGG Grandfather )
Mary Ann Baptised 16 March 1789.
I am led to understand that this family lived at Brewers End on the Hatfield Broad Oak Side... I know nothing else about them...
William- Baptised 02 April, 1786 ( my GGG Grandfather) married Maria Day @ Takeley 10 November 1805. Their Children were.
James Baptised 25 April, 1810 ( My GG. Grandfather and also Convict transported here to oz.
Robert Baptised 18 September 1814
John Baptised 16 March, 1817
Mary Baptised 11 June, 1820
There are a couple of things that could have happened and why I am not having much luck in tracing the family.
(1) They could have lived outiside the Village of Takeley and only came for Marriage, Baptism's and Burials... The records I have given are from Holy Trinity Church in the Village. Is there anywhere else in the Hatfield Broad Oak or Brewers End area that I could reseach?

(2) My James at time of offence was aged 17 years. he could have been working and living on a farm around the Village when the Crime was committed in December 1827, away from his family

??.
I simply do not know where else to look??? perhaps the key is to somehow obtain a copy of my " Jame's"s Baptismal record... it may show some information there... not sure how it works over there... but if this were possible it may help me...
There one other clue.. there is a Burial recorde of a " Maria Saich: buried 26th January, 1826 aged 48 years.... this could be my GGG Grandmother as the age seems possible and checking the Baptism of her husband William. in 1786.
I do hope that you may be able to either help meor guide me in a direction.....Again my " Thanks" I really appreciate what you have done for me...
Till later.
Faysie in Oz.
