Hi brigcs

I've been trying to find out info on the ARP myself. It appears that the ARP came under local civil defense which was handled by the borough/district council so the best idea is to check with the local reords office for sussex

If you go on the A2A website

www.a2a.org.uk

click on 'search a2a' and type in ARP, you will get lots of hits for Sussex such as:

East Sussex Record Office: HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL 1821-1998 29 hit(s)
East Sussex Record Office: Rother District Council: Planning and Secretary's (13 hits)
East Sussex Record Office: Brighton Borough Council [DB/B - DB/C] 1763-1999 11 hit(s)
East Sussex Record Office: East Sussex County Council pre 1974 [C/C/1/1 - C/C/39/19] 1810-1975 9 hit(s)
East Sussex Record Office: Sussex Police Authority 1823-2000 9 hit(s)
West Sussex Record Office: Additional manuscripts, catalogue 44 1543-1994 8 hit(s)

plus many more

Hope that helps
