My Grandfather JOSEPH HENRY PAR(R)ISH was reportedly a snooker champion in Whitehaven.
He was born in Shrops 1889 and is on the 1891 census in Shrops. By 1901 he was resident in Netherhall in Cumberland and married in 1919 from an address in Whitehaven.
Anyone help with any information please.

Have you thought about getting in touch with local snooker clubs to see if he played there - or try the local newspapers for clippings of him in action
