Hi Tina104,

Welcome to Rootschat!!

I'm not sure exactly what info you are looking for.  Do you have them already on the census?

They are living with their parents in 1881 (search it for free at www.familysearch.org)

In 1891 Gilbert is still with his parents and Frederick is an apprentice:

RG12/645/123/2
201 Pannock St., Milton Parish, Gravesend, Kent
Frederick Martin, Head, 41, Earthenware Dealer, b. Gravesend
Eliza J. Martin, Wife, 39, b. Gravesend
Gilbert E. J. Martin, Son, 12, Scholar, b. Gravesend
Richard J. W. Lewis, Nephew, 14, b. Gravesend

RG12/689/66/16
21, 16, 25 Lower Stone St., Maidstone, Kent (all numbers listed - I guess one is house and the others the shop premesis??)
Frederick W. Martin, 16, Outfitter's Assistant's Apprentice, b. Gravesend
In household of Frederick King, Outfitter and Grocer
(The Outfitter's Assistant is listed as Henry Norris, so presumeably Frederick is Henry's apprentice, not Frederick King's)

Hope that helps!

Do you have these men in the 1901 census?

As you probably know, there are no further census records after 1901.
You're probably going to have to look through the GRO index. FreeBMD so far have them indexed up to about 1914 - but they are adding new records all the time.  :)

Ancestry can be accessed - for free I think - and the records go all the way to 1983 I think.  But the indexing is not perfect.

The trouble with looking through them, is having to search through 4 quarters for every year in births and marriages and deaths.  Thats a lot of searching. :(

Someone might be kind enough to look for you, but without a smaller time frame, or a specific event, it will not be easy.
