Mary or Fanny ?

Can anyone offer any help or advice please ?

I have eventually found the marriage of Otho West Dec qtr 1849 XiV 1003
at Spilsby.In the 1851 and further census's he is living with wife Fanny b,c 1829 Sibsey.

I have looked at the records on LDS for Spilsby and written down any Fanny or Frances on there. One of them is Fanny Maria Ingamells 29/1/1832.

I then looked at the Dec qtr for 1849 for Ingamells and there is Mary Ingamells
with what looks like the same index number but it's not at all clear.
Seems a very strange co-incidence - was she just called a different name ?

I am doing some research for an elderly lady so I don't want to send off for certificate unless it absolutely necessary

They have a niece Charlotte Simper, 5, b Sibsey, living with them in 1851.

There's a Fanny Simper bap Sibsey 29 June 1828, dau of James and Ann.

Looks altogether more promising to me.

Thanks John,

Hadn't spotted that connection - but I had listed Fanny Simper as a possible but unfortunatley there is not a marriage recorded for her in the same qtr as Otho West. Maybe it was a clerical error - as it seems too much of a co-incidence.

Will go back to looking at the Simper family
