Royal Army Medical Corps.
« on: Thursday 13 April 06 14:29 BST (UK) »
I have a stick which is 27inches long with a metal cap on the top which has the above regimental badge, motto and name embossed on it. The lower end has a plain metal tip.
I would like to know the purpose of this stick, and what ranks would have such a stick.?
I believe it dates from the first world war.

Many thanks
Big Al.

Harribobs,
Thanks for that info.
Were they common to any specific rank or could anyone pose with one.?

Thanks again Harribobs,
In a way you've cleared up a problem for me, but in another way you've created another problem for me.
One of my ancestors was in the R.A.M.C with the name of David Williams. I looked at the list of medal awards for that name in the R.A.M.C. and found only a few David Williams as officers, but many as Privates.
The search goes on.!!!!!!

Thanks again for your help.

You'll probably all shout me down for this, but I understood that a swagger was only used by officers ???
