hi pal,

i can not see abirth for your samuel on the igi's. as you are aware there is no birth cert as birth registration did not start until 1855.

had a wee look at your census info

1841 census- little dublin street, stranraer.

isaac...45...ag labourer...born ireland
sarah...40...born ire
james...15...apprentice skinner
henry...13...apprentice skinner
george...11
samuel...9
margaret...6
jenny...3(really jane)
george finlay...age 9

i have sarah wood as mother of jane??

extracted from igi's

jane rankine lavery...christened...19/7/1838...stranraer

parents...isaac lavery and sarah wood

it would be nice to see a follow up of this census, 1851/1861

it seems that son james went on to marry helen mcgaw and had a child..sarah...1856

it seems that son henry went on to marry jane hamilton and had 3 children.

what info do you have for samuel? who did he marry?

always searching

joe
helping wherever possible

Not sure if my Laverys are any relation, my Agnes Lavery married Robert Bissett Boyes in Stranraer her father was William Lavery.
Do you think there is a connection, but have to say have not seen a mention of a Samuel Lavery.

Hi Jacqueline

Agnes Laverie was my wife's great grand aunt B 1849 and married Robert Bisset Boyes 1871. William Laverie was her 2nd great grandfather.
We maybe connected.
