Now thinking about it Stoke Newington, Hackney would be in the Middlesex census as Hackney was in Middlesex until 1889

Don't forget that the census is done on parliamentary not county boundaries before you start on that tack.

I had looked quite extensively for john/thomas bice/rice- in fact any bices/rices with stoke newington and did not come up with anything. The one I posted seemed to be the only possibility.
