Have just been reading your correspondence re the National Libary.

A while ago I spent several days at the Pembrokeshire Record Office in Haverfordwest but in many cases couldn't go back far enough as there were no parish records (ie they were lost or destroyed). Would the National Library be able to help me do you think? I believe there could be something in the Bishops' Transcripts - is this right?

There might be something in the BT's but they would be at the Pembroke Records Office as well and, if they had been transcibed by the LDS (not sure about Pembroke), they could be ordered from yoyr nearest LDS Family History Centre. Check out Family Search www.familysearch.org.uk for availability.

The BTs would be at the Nat Library but it might be cheaper to get them via the LDS.

That is also on the family search website - I'm at the opposite end of the country - Highlands. I don't know Essex very well.

Many thanks for that as well. Yet another discovery.
