I am sure that as u travel further in your research u will learn if this nurse was connected to the family. Really it was just an assumption on my part that she probably was not a family member as she is listed as nurse. I assumed she was employed by the family. Of course this may not be the case or there is also nothing to say that the family couldn not employ a family member!

Chris in 1066land - hi - have had some time to sort all my lists out!!! You said there were no Stanleys in Calne in 1871? I wonder if they moved for a while? Krisesjoint listed 1851 census and Charles Stanley is on it as Head of House. 1881 Census gives his wife - Sarah as Head of house and widow? Charles was born in Wootten Bassett - Could he and Sarah be in another village? (this is so interesting!)

SS from the Rhondda- I am hooked! - have been working hard on this and have found - using a BMD site - that Zebedee's sister - Sarah Jane - was married to a Radnedge. She had her first son at the end of 1870 and the registration district came up as - Shepton Mallet!!! Zebedee could have been visiting his sister? This gets so involved doesn't it??!!!

Sarah Jane is shown as being born Calne, Wilts. So looks very much like his sister...

Note: There is an older son (b1868/1869) shown aged 2.
