Josie,
My main family line is Maitland and my line also has links to Killearn. James Maitland 1791- 1851 married Anne McEwen in Fintry (1822). I have traced Anne back to Killearn, but have been unable to ascertain the origins of James. Perhaps we have some sort of mutual connection?
Maitland- Belfast, Newtonards, Lisburn, Comber
McIlwain-Bothwell, Dalziel, Holytown, Motherwell, Scotland; Belfast, Saintfield, Ballynahinch, Ireland
Laird- Kilcronaghan Parish, & Belfast, Ireland; Bellshill, Motherwell, Scotland
Rodgers & McConnell-Newtonards & Comber

Sorry, my link to this is mostly through the Maitland line. My only Morrison connection is Eliza Ann Morrison b. 1834 in  Co. Down (supposedly). She died before 1878 in Motherwell. I have nothing more than her name and she is not related to the Maitland line.
