RETFORD MARRIAGE LOOK UP PLEASE

Please could some kind person look up the marriage of Vincent Fletcher possibly in the Retford area about 1827. 

Vincent was born in Retford in 1793 and had a son George Henry born in Retford in 1827!

Any information is much appreciated.

I did have Vincent's parents details but his actual marriage is a mystery to me  - I guess he must have married in a different county to his birth & the birth of his son George Henry!

Thanks very much for this information - I think you could be right  , I didn't realise Clareborough was so close to Retford until I checked it out on the map!

If I could get the Baptism for their son George Henry Fletcher born 1827 in the Retford area, wouldn't this show both his parents?

Do you know where try to get this information?

The problem is that the two marriages of  a Vincent to Mary appear to be different couples, rather than one Vincent marrying twice. I say this because, for example, in 1819 there are two baptisms to Vincent and Mary - Vincent on 24th June and James 5 Oct.

Baptisms for Clarborough appear on the IGI for 1813-1841, but these children in the 1841 aren't there. Possibly they shifted out of the area to a parish where baptisms haven't been indexed yet, or were non-conformist or simply very bad at getting children baptised!

Yes Heather, I think you might be right  - I found this in the middle of the night then my internet connection crashed on me  and I couldn't get back online!

The only doubt I did have was that George was a Tanner but on other certificates I have showed him as being a Tin Plate worker or Tinman 

If his baptism hasn't yet been indexed, do you know which record office or library may have his record of birth or marriage for the Retford area?
