Where is Hertford on the 1841 Census??

Hi All,

In the list of places/towns in Hertfordshire on the 1841 census - no record seems to exist for the county town of Hertford!!
Are my eyes going toooo square to see the wood for the trees!!

I am looking for the following which I was given last year:
HO107/447/3
F34 P41

Anyone help?

Hi Geoff,

It is for William Tabram b in county(Stanstead Abbots) 1784 - I was given that reference for him on a barge in Hertford.
His wife was Jane with children Sarah and Thereza (who I have found living with the Heard family)

Why do my lot always try to escape!!  ;D ;D

Hertford definitely seems to be missing at the moment! ::)  I notice though that the 41 does not pop up on the list on available censuses on the home page.  Perhaps they are still testing, and haven't yet uploaded everything? :-\

Perhaps that's why I haven't yet had my email to say the '41 is online!!!

Hopefully Hertford will appear - but I have my doubts  :o

That looks like the one  - Geoff - wonder where I got the other numbers from - doesn't help to place him in the family - but most of my lot worked the barges so must be the correct one!

I am happy it was useful. I was excited at the intro. of the 1841 Census but have found absolutely nobody connected with my family. C'est la vie!!

Same here - although I did have a few already, from people at Rootschat having done lookups for me on my main line - but thought I would fine lots of children who had left home by '51!!
