Translation of headstones needed - please. COMPLETED
« on: Friday 21 April 06 17:35 BST (UK) »
Hello all,
I have had my trip to Merthyr Tydfil and apart from receiving a thorough soaking it was very worthwhile, I have found the burials and the graves of quite a few of my ancestors but I can't read them, would anyone please do a translation, I can email the pictures perhaps.
The library at M.T. is a wonderful resource and the librarian was so helpful, I met some lovely people there, the Glam FHS were there between 5-7pm and they showed me other lists I'd never heard of.. the absent voters list 1917/1918, found two of mine on that.
Electoral Registers were also in the library, but thats for next time... also stayed in a really good B & B, thoroughly recommend that....
Next time we're planning a longer trip, and following CU's advice my husband is now receiving a fishing rod for his birthday present - that should keep him quiet while I'm busy in the library!
