Looking for any info about Joseph Elliot married Mary Ann Haslett, born Farnborough Kent abt 1818.  Father was George Elliot married Catherine Griffen.  Joseph and Mary Elliot emigrated to Christchurch New Zealand 1857 or 67.  Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks for that, I really have no information about Joseph and his family in England I just have little bits and pieces like his will etc when he died in NZ.  Any information on any descendants of his would be appreciated.

Here's a possible entry for Joseph in 1841:
ref HO107 483-01 folio 8 page 9: Street, Farnborough
Sarah Griffin age 40 grocer
Joseph Elliott age 20 gardener
Elizabeth Gross age 14 F S
Sarah and Joseph both shown as born in county

I couldn't spot any other Elliotts in Farnborough in 1841.

Hi,

My Great Great grandmother Catherine Gilchrist married joseph Elliott in 1870 in Christchurch, NZ. His brother George lived with him at the time of his death, there was an inquest performed and George was a witness in this..  Joseph was a Hotel keeper. I have just got his birth cert and it lists his parent as Joseph Elliott (gardener) and  Mary Anne Elliott(nee Haslett) . It says born in Kent.

I don't think my G G Grandmother and Joseph were married for very long, and i don't believe they had any children.
 She married twice more.
I would love to hear anything about the Elliott's.
