Dear fellow Rootschatters, looking details on this Irish ancestor - Kieran also known as Ciaran CANTWELL born C1894 in either Kings or Queens County (will post messages in both boards). Father's name was Thomas CANTWELL and mother's name unknown unknown.
Extra information: Kieran Cantwell worked as a Blacksmith. He died young - aged only 32 years (died 1926). Several searches have been carried out in Dublin (by post) for his birth certificate but they could not find it. They would carry out a search for 5 years, and if they found nothing more money would be spent on the next 5 year search, but to no avail.
Rahan appears to be the ancestral home of this branch of Cantwells. Many graveyards have been searched in the general area, but unfortunately Rahan was not searched as this information was unknown at the time.
I thought I'd have more luck getting a helpful soul to check Parish Registers (if there is such a thing - sorry I'm an Aussie), as the family were most probably Roman Catholic.
