Hi Celia,

I was wondering if you could help me find out the burial of my 4xgt grandfather, Thomas Whitby who was born c1779.  I don't know exactly where he was born but he married Elizabeth Prince in 1802 in Tarporley. (Ithinkthat is where Elizabeth was born). So far as I know they had 4 children who were all born in Frodsham.

Hi Morgan
Was Thomas living in Wirral when he died (or near enough)and do you know how old he would have been. Most of the buried in St Hilary from what i have seen so far, are from the Wirral area with a few outsiders. Have you any reason to think he is buried there.

Hi Celia,

Sorry, I don't know how old he was when he died but he, nor Elizabeth are mentioned on 1841 census for Cheshire.  He may have died in Ellesmere Port where a couple of his sons lived.

Hi Morgn
I will have a look for you,Adding the approximate birth years of the children from the marriage date. They were all born before 1810> So that might cut his death year down to 1830/40.  Unless they moved out of the county. Will get back to you during the week.

Hi Morgan/Jill ;D

No Thomas Whitby burials i am afraid.I checked back to  1816 and up the 1850's, for any at all Whitby's. There wasn't a single one Sorry. As there are quiet a lot of burials with the "Abode liverpool" I double checked That as well just in case i missed it, because the burials are in order of Y.M.D. have you looked on the resources page for burials M.I. in various cemeteries in Cheshire and liverpool.
