many thanks mgf! :)
Am interested in Wifes M N. All I know was she was called Grace "something".

Been right through from 1916-1946 but cannot find his marriage. Most likely decade was 1920's, hence my frustration at not seeing all of 1925. It is the only possibility left for me now.

cheers
Gazza

OK, 3 Charles Gibson marriages in Q4 1925:

Gibson, Charles L - Brasted, Beatrice G - Maldon 4a 1605
Gibson, Charles S - Lewis, Dorothea - Caxton 3b 1067
Gibson, Charles W - Bishop, Winifred E - Gravesend 2a 1551

Not much joy there, unless you think the G in Beatrice G Brasted might stand for Grace.  ???

Incidentally, Patricia, what made you pick those two particular Charles Gibson marriages out of Ancestry? I see 2 or 3 Charles Gibson marriages in most quarters, and I can't work out what criteria you've used to choose those.  :-\

Cheers!

Just a spot of lateral thinking:

If you know what area they would be in and the name of one of their children, you could look for the birth.  After Sep 1911 mother's maiden names are indexed.

Once you have that, you can look more confidently for the marriage.

(Of course if you don't have that info, you are still stuck !!)

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Mike,
That was all the time I could afford yesterday. :o
I did offer to do more when and if needed. Originally only 1925 was requested and I did that during a lunch break  ::)
Hope this meets with your approval  :D

Oh, yes, Patricia, no problem -- I wasn't criticizing, just curious. I just couldn't work out why you'd offered one marriage from 1923, and one from 1925, when there are so many more in both years  :) (and in between  ;D ).

I'm certain any kind of assistance is greatly appreciated - I've definitely got a lot closer to solving several problems posting on these boards, and am just trying to give back in return for what I have received.  ;)

Cheers!

Thanks for your help both. I'm really struggling now.
I know charles gibson and grace had 2 children ,Ruth & Charles (or charlie).
I have been through and written down every Ruth & Charlie(s) born between 1916 -1936.
I'm pretty sure they were born c1922 most likely.
However, checking how many Ruth & charles share same MMN are very few. I've tried to find a corresponding marriage for Charles &  Grace with a matching MN. Alas no joy. None seem to tie up with Charles family area ,i.e Norfolk.
Having said that, he was inthe army 1stww ,so who knows what area his army sojurns would have taken him!
At a loss,
Gazza

What else do you know for certain about Ruth and Charlie? Maybe we can start from there. If they were b. c1920s, are they enjoying a ripe old age, or if not do you have exact date and place of death? Or is that all as much of a mystery as their ma and pa?

By the way, when you say ...

can I ask which source of information you used, as some of them are significantly incomplete?

Cheers!
