Hiya Pam,

Is that UDDINGSTON or DUDDINGSTON?

There are 2 different places.

Uddingston is in Lanarkshire and Duddingston is in Midlothian in fact Duddingston is more or less in Edinburgh now.

Another Pam...  ;D

Thank you for your reply.

This is a querie for a friend.

I am looking through the notes but only Uddingston  is mentioned.

But the same thing happened to my friends family his mother left and the children went into care and foster homes. My friends father Joseph lived in Drumshoreland at some stage. His mothers birth was registered in Lanarkshire. Joseph a farm  lab.

My friend as been trying to find relatives for a very long time, and to see when his mother died or maybe alive. He has  contact with his brothers.

My friend spent a lot of time in Edinborough trying to find births and deaths when they were over.

They had contact with a realy old cousin who mentioned Uddingston but could not say what happened to them afterwards. My friend did not have this information when in Scotland.

This is why the querie about the home and his Uncles children.

I said Iwould ask on RootsChat for help in the right direction.

Thank you Pam
