Hiya folks,

I posted a message about Boyds on the McLean (McClean) and Devlin  board.
I opened the thread for Áine Maire. Her Boyds lived in Edward Street near the McCleans. Aggie and Annie McClean married James and Stephen Boyd but we are not sure which sister married which brother.

All the Best, Chris

I have trawled through the graveyards on micro fiche for you and you say now that  you have found them..........................so thats great..........lots of them seem to have left wills...........so you maybe able to find out more information by finding a particular persons will that is most intrest to you...PRONI ..will have these.

If you goggle "Boyd genealogy"  you will find a site just for Boyd's

Wendy..... as you are a Close and Agnes and Nellie in your tree...think your rellies must have come from Carnmoney area much like ours.

I always thought all roads lead to Rome.....until I started my rellie hunt.........they now all lead to Ireland ;D...bet our families cross in 1750's

Thank you Wendy

Any information is always greatfully received at any time.

If the years are the 1900's was the Walker/Close buried with a Boyd.....

I wonder how Coralc is getting on with her Boyd's?

Hi Steve...

Looks like the grave may have been purchased for a William Boyd,as he was the first to be buried there, then the Walker was added, as was Agnes Boyd...(I wonder if William was my Annie's brother? and Agnes was the mother???) I have a feeling the other surnames are a result of marriages into the Boyd family...as that is how the Close burial came to be...was the baby son of Annie Agnes Boyd, who married a Close...and yes the years would be 1900's.

All the Best

Hi Wendy

Dundonald would have seemed to far out ,for them to be mine, but I have learned in recent months that I should never rule anyone out  ;D

Thank you
Steve

Would you mind if I butt in.  Boyd seems to a popular name & I have a few in my trees - quite a bit away from Carrickfergus though but I will leave it up to you - any info is better than none - is what I have learnt.

Samuel Boyd b-1860 Married Elizabeth Nicol, 08/01/1881, Ahoghill Presbyterian Church.  They move to Scotland, where Mary, Samuel, Thomas, James & Elizabeth are born before at least Mary returns to Ireland to marry William (Willie) Pearson -22/12/1911 @ Taylorstown Pres. Church, Co.Antrim.

Good luck on your research

Mark

This may be a bit off but might interest someone especially Lazarus with his Aussie connection.

John Boyd married Agnes Colville, born 24 Dec. 1859 Islandmagee, Co. Antrim, migrated to NSW, Australia in Oct. 1884 aboard S.S. Texan. Their marriage was registered at Sydney in 1888. They had 5 children:

Samuel Boyd - born 1889 reg'd Sydney, NSW, Australia
Annie M. Boyd - born 1892 reg'd Sydney, NSW
Agnes H. Boyd - born 1896 reg'd Waverley, NSW
Francis H. Boyd - born 1899 reg'd Waverley, NSW
Robert T. Boyd - born 1902 reg'd Waverley, NSW

Good hunting.
