Hi Maggie

I am very new to this site but was excited to see that someone is interested in the McKean name.   I am interested in the McKean family from the Taughboyne area of Donegal, any good?

Beryl

My family tree shows a John Denholm who married a Martha Hogg Nee Blyth from East Lothian.  I have more information if this is of interest?

Martha Nee Blyth was previously married to a John Hogg, I assume he died as she married my GG/grandfather John Denholm.  This was his second marriage too.

I am led to believe she was born in Bathgate about 1849 her parents were Robert Blyth and Janet (Jessie) Stodart.  She died on 26 June 1901

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the further information on Martha.  Her father Robert Blyth was the brother of my ancestor Martha Blyth - their parents were John Blyth and Martha Hastie.  I also have Stoddarts and Denholms in my family tree!

Regards,

Maggie

Hiya Andy,

This may not be much good to you. I have been looking at Irish War Memorials and found the name H. Stodart on a World War I memorial plaque at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Blackrock, Dublin. I do not know if H. Stodart was a male or female but they were attached to St John's Ambulance. This is not a common surname in Ireland and the time frame looks about right to be a connection to your Janet. Do you know of a connection in Ireland?
