Hi Andras

Me again  :)

Are you wanting to trace him backwards - I have lots of stuff on Ruabon, as does William Jones, who will probably respond as well.

Have you got any information or ideas about their parents?

I've had a quick look on the censuses but can't find an appropriate family in the area in 1891 or 1901. Does your information have them living there, born there,  married there, having children there or what - anything that would give a lead. You don't say what connection they have to Ruabon/Johnstown.

I'm afraid that John Hughes and Mary Davies are not the most unusual names  and anything would give a lead - they must have married in or before 1883 - have you got a marriage ref from FreeBMD which would give the fathers' names.

Well I've drawn a complete blank in looking for them in 1891 and 1901.Are you sure the names are correct?

Hi Andras

Like William I have checked all the names and dates against the 1901 and can find no family that matches. Do you have your grandmother's birth certificate? This might indicate where she was born and her father's occupation.
