Isabella D Milburn

Looking for info on Isabella Deborah Milburn.

She was born Douglas IOM in 1868, parents Isaac and Esther.

I'm interested in her as she married to my great grandfather in Liverpool in 1911. She was his 2nd wife.
He was 69 at the time and she was 44 ( a spinster)
She was a tobacconist in Liverpool in 1911.

However my gt.grandfather Thomas Owen died in 1915 in Nottingham. I wondered why they went to Nottingham and what became of Isabella?

Any information would be welcome

Thank you
Erika

Hi DJ

Thanks for the census. I had found Isabella there, but just really wondered what became of her after my great grandfather died?

Cheers

in 1894 directory under Douglas  both Ironmonger + Plumbers, Gas, and Steam
Milburn Mrs, 52 Strand-street Fitters
so she was still there it appears in 1894 - no directories exist post this date though there may be partial listings - plug milburn into search engine on www.manxnotebook.com

Many thanks for the information Frances.  Will check on the manxnotebook website, could have some other useful information on there.
My stepmother was a Cowin and came from a farming family in Andreas, so could look up something about her family too.

hi I have just started to trace my family history, my great grandfather was Richard Briden Milburn and his wife was Isabella Milburn. Hi
Wow this thread was so long ago I'd forgotten about it :o
However I'll check through my records and see what I'd found out and be back in touch.
She was my gt grandfather's 2nd wife so not really a blood relative in my line, but I'll have a look anyway.

Thanks for the interest
Cheers
Erika :)
