Hi Angela

I have found Harriet and children on the 1891 for you.

1891 Weston Super Mare
Rg12/1921 Pg 47 Folio 58 Sch 303 lodging at 20 Wooler Road.
In household of Ephriam Clements.
Harriet Gisborne Wife Mar 29 Staffordshire Old Hill
Ethel Dau 3 Somerset weston s mare
George Henry Son 10 months  Somerset weston s mare
Sophia Hender Sister S 17 Domestic Servant Staffordshire Old Hill

So if you did not know the wife's maiden name you would be able to know now.  :)

On Ancestry Harriet is listed as surname Clements which is the landlord's surname.

Cheers Sandy

the only Census i could find for my Henry Gisborne was the 1901
Head  Henry Gisborne married Age Last Birthday 36
 Where born  Eressbott ??? Bedfordshire
i did get intouch with them and they changed it to
Eversholt but still know Birth for Henry Gisborne
so was it put Right or not i will probble never know
Where he was Born  now . so i cannot find his birth
so i cannot find his Parents only his father's name on his marriage Cert as William Gisborne Gentleman Deceased  .
Henry married on 12/9/1887
so my family tree stared in 1887 and finished in 1887

HI Angela

I have just checked through my Eversholt P.C. Baps/Burials and can not see anyone of
that surname on censuses in the village either.

Sorry

Hi Angela,

I can understand your frustration over this one, I have being trying to piece everything together from your various threads.

This isn't going to help, but helping my friend compile her family tree, her g grandfather was born illegitmately in Gloucestershire, even though mum before and after lived in Berks.  It looks like she was 'sent away' to have the baby.  Unfortunately even though he lived with his mother, he doesn't appear to have had his birth registered or been baptised.  I wonder if this could be the case with your Henry, that mum was sent away to Eversholt to have him.

Also, I find it odd that he cannot be found either as Bunker or Gisborne on a census before his marriage, I wonder if his mother married someone other than his father and he was living under his name.

I was wondering what were the names of the witnesses at his marriage to Harriet?  It might give us a clue.

'Mrs' GISBORNE's executors sold off her belongings at Church End, Eversholt, in 1876.  Beds Archives have a copy of the sale catalogue.  I saw the catalogue some years ago & it seems they were important & well-traveled folk?

http://blars.adlibsoft.com/beginner/indnms.html

'Mrs' GISBORNE sems to be:

Susan Elizabeth A  Gisborne , aged 64, whose death was registered in the June quarter of 1876  [Woburn  3b 233]

I cant access 'Historical Directories' on-line to find her  ???
