Cousins family
« on: Sunday 17 October 04 22:33 BST (UK) »
I've come to a dead end in the search for my GGG Grandfather. His name was Alexander Young Cousins, born 1841 in Scotland.
My family recollection is that he came from Glasgow.
In 1881 he was working in London, so some time during 40 years must have travelled south.
Can anyone please help me with a starting point to find where Alexander came from?
Thank you.

Hi Mark, I checked out the names index for both the 1851 and 1861 census for Glasgow and Alexander does not appear in either of them.  Also checked the 1861 for Lanarkshire, but again, no sign of him there either.

Thanks so much Liz.

Glasgow was always mentioned anecdotally, but I suppose  he could have come from anywhere in the country. His 1881 census just lists 'Scotland' as his place of birth.

I'm not sure where to from here.
