zipporah williamson 1876 mottram,cheshire

can anybody help find the parents of zipporah williamson born 1876 in mottram ,cheshire...i have zipporah(zepporah) on an1881 census in 7 greenfield st ,in glossop dale,derbyshire...although another county ,the villages are very close.....in the census zipporah is living with her aunts/uncles and grandparents...desperate to find her mother and father....any help or advice appreciated..kind regards...allan

The obvious answer since she is a servant on the 1891 census is to purchase her birth and or marriage certificate.

Her birth would obviously be better, particularly if there is any doubt about whether she was born legitimately, as illegitimate people had a tendency to add details about fathers to their marriage certificates to hide their illegitimacy.

The legal age for marriage until the 1920s was 12 for a girl and 14 for a boy. Parent or guardian permission would be needed for an underage marriage (under 21). It was unusual for someone to marry so young.

The parentage of Zipporah using just census evidence can only ever be speculation. You need her birth certificate to actual confirm who her mother and perhaps father actually were.

I don't know where those registers would be on film,I checked Manchester and they haven't got copies.
