Sheffield Register office have now lauched their website for searching the indexed Births, Marriages and deaths.

What range does it do.  I couldn't get any results for my relatives even when I used ones I already had the certificates for?

I've tried on the Sheffield site quite a few times, I even checked with dates that I already have certs for but even those came up 'not found'.  I didn't find it at all heplful.

It's obviously not the same as they use in the registrars office.  I went there looking for a marriage cert of an ancestor and they found them immediately even though I had the year wrong.  Makes you wonder why its different.

It is exactly the same as they use in the register office.

Sheffield & District FHS are transcribing and uploading the baptisms and the register office staff are uploading the marriages....but the chap responsible for the marriages is off ill.
