There's a marriage entry on IGI, extracted record, for Barbara's parents:

ROBERT ANDERSON  Marriages Spouse:  MARGARET MCMURDO
Marriage: 30 OCT 1866  Closeburn, Dumfries, Scotland

Also on IGI, the following children show for them, including Barbara:

1. CATHRINE ARMSTRONG ANDERSON  Birth: 17 MAR 1872 Closeburn, Dumfries, Scotland
2. BARBARA JANE ANDERSON Birth: 16 JUN 1874 Closeburn, Dumfries, Scotland
3. THOMAS MCMURDO ANDERSON Birth: 15 AUG 1868 Closeburn, Dumfries, Scotland.

Regards.

Thanks for the info; I see you are researching Moran, from Lanarkshire. I have a Moran in my family tree. My G.g. grandmother was a Mary Moran, Dressmaker, b c1835.

She married in Glasgow a John Devine, Coal miner born c1826. She later married a William McKenzie  in Bellshill, Lanarkshire.

My G.gran's name was Isabella Devine b 1866 in Bathgate. Any connection? If so, I have other details if you contact me again. S

My Morans, Thomas and wife Bridget, came over to Glasgow just before the 1841 Census. Thomas died young and Bridget remarried but also died relatively young. I think they came from Co. Downs originally but no proof. They were the parents of my gggrandfather, John Moran who married Mary Gallagher (also Irish) and remained in Glasgow.

I know there is/were Morans living in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire at one time. One of the girls was called Bidget ( I believe she got called Bridie for short) . Don't know anything about where they originally came from. S

Can you explain? I am in the dark on this e.mail !!!
I am researching the names Anderson/McMurdo, but I haven't a clue  about having given anyone advice re: "starting a page" or whatever. Perhaps you've meant this to go to someone else. S

No problem, I found loads of Anderson/Mcmurdo's on this site  < www.dumgal.gov.uk/historicalindexes/census. > I found another on the McMurdo's : "Stothart Family History" . I was just playing around with the computer at the time and entered something like McMurdo + family search + Closeburn. Not sure if this is exact but if you don't get it let me know how I can contact you and I will try and send a copy. S
