1841 census Swallowfield, Berkshire - WYNN/GIRDLER
« on: Monday 18 October 04 15:49 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have the 1841 Berkshire census and if so would they mind kindly looking up John and Rose Wynn and Rose's daughter Frances Girdler who would be aged abt 8. They would be living in Swallowfield - possibly Riseley Common, Swallowfield. Any help is very much appreciated Sara

Hello Sara,
I went to the Record Office and had a look for you.
1841 Film 2  HO107/13/8 folio 4 p1 - p16 were checked
Swallowfield, Riseley, Farley Hill, Swallowfield, Farley Hill in that order on the film.
I am afraid that I could not find any entry for John and Rose Wynn and Rose's daughter Frances Girdler, I had to check twice because the first time I looked for a family of Girdler's, so very carefully checked the second time, looking for a combination of Wynn, Girdler and for a John and Rose together, no "Rose" at all, no Wynn's and no Girdler's. :(
Sorry

Thank you so much for looking I was so sure they would be there. I'm now absolutely at a loss as to where they could be.
With MANY Thanks

Sara,
Just a thought, do you have them in Swallowfield in the 1851?
If you are absolutely sure that's where they should be I don't mind having another look.  I hate being defeated! If you can give me the reference for the 1851 I can see where they are I won't be going for a couple of weeks now, but will look again when I do.
