Found in 1881 - but ??? before and after? Help!!

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a riddle for all you willing detectives out there.  I really hope someone can help.

I have found this family in the 1881 census living in Gorton, Manchester, and I believe that they could be significant to my research, however, I can not find any trace of them in any of the other census returns before or after (I do have a subscription to the most well known provider) .

Am I just stupid?  What I would like to do is apply for the birth cert of one of the children so that I can obtain the mothers maiden name, but I can't find these either!

And whose son can this Charles Jones be?

Can SKS who has access please have a look before they take me away to the 'special hospital' for deranged family historians where my wife already believes that I should be permanently resident.

Having looked at the image in 1881 there is something written after "Son" for Charles Jones.  I cannot make out what it is though!   It is not the same as the word for Frank anyway.   Have not found them yet and the site has crashed!

No.  Don't think it was the last lot as in 1871 they do not have Frank or Louisa.

It's not.  Partington John appears in the 1881 with his wife Margaret.  It must be a different family, but where are they?

Louisa is still in Gorton in 1891 - a servant age 24.
No sign of the others though.

Had a look at the births for Frank.  The only possible one seems to be Francis John E Hollinworth  Jul/Sep 1867 Ashton 8d 440
Might be worth asking the local office if he was a child of John and Margret.
Hope you find them.  Cannot think where they can be!

You're right it could be worth a look because there is also a Louisa born in Ashton also around the right time.

I'm still chasing it, but might give it a rest for tonight.
