Can anyone read this occupation? - completed
« on: Wednesday 10 May 06 23:24 BST (UK) »
Hi

i'm struggling with this occupation (1st line on the census extract) - this is a 78 year old widow in 1851, so that rules out quite a lot of things!

Any ideas welcome. I've looked at it small, big and in between and I still can't work out what it can be.

Hi!
I think you will find that it says "Parish relief" - i.e. living on handouts from the Parish.
Hope this helps,
Bluesky
