« on: Friday 12 May 06 15:52 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know what newspapers were published from 1915 on-wards in the Cardiff Roath area ,I am trying to find out more about my grandfather who was a journalist on one of the papers but I have no idea which one .He died in 1924 aged 46 ,Would welcome any thoughts or ideas .
Many thanks for your time in advance Tsumi

Hi Tsumi,
just googled and found these;
Cardiff times 1858-1957
Cardiff and South Wales advertiser 1920-1934
Cardiff and suburban news 1924-1950
Cardiff Times 1857-1930
All held at Cardiff central library(mostly on film)
Have a google, there's quite a bit there.

The Cardiff Echo began in 1884!! The south wales Gazette was around Cardiff then too i believe.

I know that the Echo and Gazette are still going as i used to work across the road from the main office of one of them by the main police station in Cardiff, i cant remember which office it was though.The Echo has offices everywhere and so does the Gazette so if he worked at one those it should be easy to find out. I am not familiar with the papers that Ems posted but if they are still around they should be easy to locate. The problem is that there used to be loads of papers in Cardiff.
good luck
