Hi Trevor,

Gloria finis (Glory is the end) is the motto of 43 Squadron of the Royal Air Force, taken from the motto of the Brook family, Squadron Leader AF Brook being the Squadron Commander from July 1925 to January 1928.
For more information see www.leuchars.raf.mod.uk/sqn43.htm or simply Google - Gloria finis.

Isles.

Hi again Trevor,

I have now found an illustration of your badge on the website www.kplorentzen.dk/KPL-NFT-29-30-2005-01-PRT.htm the only problem being that it's a foreign language !

It appears to be a Danish Army regiment.

Sorry, my language skills do not stretch to Danish!

but then I found this !!

Prinsens Livregiment (English: The Prince's Life Regiment) is an infantry regiment, one of two in the Royal Danish Army. The regiment is the army's sole line infantry regiment, and is named for Prince Henrik, the husband of Queen Margrethe II.
The regiment was formed in 2000 through the amalgamation of the original Prince's Life Regiment with two other regiments:
Slesvigske Fodregiment - Schleswig Foot Regiment
Dronningens Livregiment - Queen's Life Regiment
Because one of the regiment's antecedents was the life regiment of Queen Ingrid, the Queen Mother, the regiment has both Prince Henrik's and the late Queen Mother's cypher's on its Regimental Colour. The regiment was founded during the reign of King Frederik III in 1657 under the command of Ernst Albrecht von Eberstein. Over the years it has undergone many changes of name, before being awarded its present one in 1961.
The regiment currently has seven battalions:
1st Battalion: Currently serves in the armoured infantry role
2nd Battalion: Currently serves in the armoured infantry role
3rd Battalion: Currently serves in the mechanised infantry role
4th Battalion: Currently serves in the armoured infantry role (Danish International Brigade)
5th Battalion: Currently serves in the armoured infantry role
6th Battalion: Currently serves in the mechanised infantry role
7th Battalion: Currently serves in the mechanised infantry role
