You never know where they turn up
« on: Sunday 14 May 06 21:47 BST (UK) »
Has anyone found someone when they least expect it ??? ,my husband was given a book to read last week ,it was called  " Llangeinor Huntsmen"basicly it was about a local Hunt ,it named all the huntsmen from 1804 onward with information on each man ,one name I was drawn to Thomas Caedu ,reason being my father was a Thomas and he was born on Caedu farm ,I looked on my tree and found a Thomas Thomas 1776 with a father called Jenkin ,so I started to look into it further and found that Thomas Caedu was Jenkin Thomas ,Thomas Thomas's brother born 1770 ,any one else found them in strange places

I was in the Guildhall Library, waiting for a book to be delivered and spending the time glancing at the books on open shelves. I saw one called Working Class Heroes of Victorian London. I took it down and looked in the index - James Piper it said. I turned to the listed page and discovered it was my G.G.Grandfather. And learned that he was heavily involved in the early days of the Co-operative movement.

I found one of my Ancestors in a Readers Digest
book about family history, they were talking about
old building societies and how they worked
and behold my ancestor had signed up for
an early building society. So I now have an example
of his signature.
