Could anyone do a look up for me please

Phillipe Maurer  age around 38 Born Alsace France
He  would have been living in either Ayrshire or Wigtownshire, his wife was Elizabeth.

The family would appear to be in Ayr, Ayrshire. I can see an entry coming up (I haven't viewed it) in the free search facility on the pay to view site Scotlands People at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Phillipe's name is indexed as Philip although the surname is correct, Maurer,  and he is showing as age 37. In total, there are 8 entries showing under the name Maurer in Ayr for the 1891 census.

Just in case you haven't researched in Scotland before, Scotlands People has census images from 1841-1901 as well as BMD certificate images. There are a number of guides here at the top of the Scottish General Section to help you when researching in Scotland and when using Scotlands People.

 I'm trying to keep off it for a while, it's too easy to spend money.
