Hello again Nigel

I am not 100% sure that it is the same Edward.  I followed Edward & Sarah through the censuses until Edwards death in 1886 aged 63.  The one that was born in Alfreton was baptised 30 April 1820 so the dates don't fit.

Edward seems consistent, with baptism the same year as birth in 1920-22. I attached a PDF.

Hi Nigel

I don't think you can attach on this site.  I can only send you a personal message after you have made 3 posts.  So if you reply to this I should be able to send you one.

ok. I think the 1822 birthdate for Edward was sketchy, based on estimations via later census records.

The Edward bapt in Alfreton 30 April 1820 would have been aged 66 in 1886 when he died.  The death records says 63.

S,
If Edward was born in 1920 and died in 1886, he was 66, not 63; so maybe its a mistake on the birth certificate? We estimated Edward's birth at 1922 based on census. Edward Married Sarah Tupman in June 1852 and had James in 1857 (who died young in 1900). In any case, the rest of the data through James Bamford&Emma Arriet Thompson -- Everard, Gilbert Henry and their other kids fit perfectly.

Hi

The baptism was from a transcription of Alfreton Parish Records, so yes it could be a mistake.  The original records would have to be checked to confirm.
Also the marriage certificate of Edward & Sarah should say who Edwards father so would also confirm if it is the same one.  Another theory is could the age at death be wrong.  I am not direct descendant of Edward, but his grandparents were my 4 x gt grandparents.
