I have an old family photograph that is labeled Mr & Mrs Pilch, Mrs Pilch is Pa's cousin.  Pa would be John Gibson Jr (b 1830 Co Galway d 1862 US Civil War).  According to the censuses, the only Pilches listed in the area are all descended from Sarah Wakefield, daughter of David Wakefield of Aughrim, Co Galway, Ireland.  I have read the Wakefield Memorial, and am wondering if anyone has more details.  My Gibson line has been a brick wall for a long time, and would like to know where it fits into the Wakefield line.  John Gibson (1796 Co Galway-1868 Albany, NY) m Mary Spearman ca 1819 and had 9 children.  After Mary died ca 1838, John and his children went to America (can find no passenger records).  John was the son of William Gibson (1767 Co Galway) m 1st ca 1795 Mary Graham (a widow) & had 2 children, m 2nd unknown ca 1801 and had 5 children, m 3rd Sarah Langford ca 1813  and had 3 children.  William was the son of an unknown Gibson (b ca 1737 Scotland) and unknown Hare (b Ireland).  Any information or hints would be greatly appreciated!

You have enough posts (3) to use PM system but many of the users on this thread only have one or two posts.

I got my information from "Wakefield Memorial".  It can be found online at books.familysearch.org, or log into familysearch.org and go to Family History Books, then search for:  Wakefield memorial--comprising an historical, genealogical and biographical register of the name and family of Wakefield.  You can read it online or download it for future reference.

Just wish I could find out how my Gibson line connects with these Wakefields!
