Directories or Post office Lists? 1918-1930
« on: Tuesday 19 October 04 21:00 BST (UK) »
Hello.

I would like to locate my  grandfather William I.Jones who was in the merchant navy and purported to have lived in Cardiff for the above times. Could someone please point me to the right Trade Directory or Postal List where I might start looking.

Thank you.

You could email Cardiff Reference Library: cts@cardiff.gov.uk I know most References libraries hold electoral rolls, directories etc for their region

Their website can be found on: http://www.caerdydd.gov.uk/leisure/libwb2k2/pages/el_cntrl.htm

Yes they do, and I'll be going back in the next couple of weeks to do a bit more research. Let me know some more details of what you need (addresses would be particularly helpful in this case) and I'll see how I can help you.

Kind regards,

Joanne

Hello Joanne,

I don't have any addresses for reference in Cardiff but instead, are there electoral registers or rolls for Swansea 1901-1911 at the Records Offce you will be visiting? Thanks.

Regards,

Lynn
