1861 & 1871 Census Look Up - JOWETT - Leeds
« on: Wednesday 20 October 04 14:33 BST (UK) »
I would appreciate help in finding JOSEPH JOWETT (Master Wood Turner) b. 1812 Leeds, his wife SARAH and daughter ELIZABETH b. about 1836 Leeds.

Possible addresses are Oxford Street/Row and 2 Sunny Bank Street, Leeds.   They were definitely at Sunny Bank St. in 1871 but I'm not sure about 1861.

Many thanks.

Thanks again.   The easy answer is "I don't know"!   There are probably more Jowetts in Bradford than Leeds, and even more Jowitts!   My lot so far are definitely Leeds with the exception of one branch which drifted to Shipley & Saltaire.   I am not aware of a John in Bradford, unless it was the one that ended up in Shipley - he was born 1809 and was a shoemaker.   I haven't got him on either the '61 or '71 yet, so possible.  His wife was Sarah and he had a few daughters, Kezia, Hannah, Clara Jane, and at least one son, Francis Wm.

When you were having your blind spell is there any chance you missed Elizabeth, b. about 1836????   I live in hope!
