St.Teilo on the Clase, - Parish Records?

When i tried searching to find records for my 'suspected' chapel it said on Genuki that records had not been submitted yet. Does this mean that they dont exist or simply just not available to buy? Mine have to be somewhere and i have spent a small fortune trying to find out where!
I am not too familiar with Swansea or down that way but maybe its worth putting your picture in the common room to see if its recognised. If i find/obtain any other records i will keep an eye out for yours as i have one or two names that i look for when i do my own already.

Hi Karren,

"Records not submitted yet" means that they are still kept in the original Church/Chapel.

My understanding is that they are submitted to the Diocese when the books are full, - but if I'm wrong on this, someone please put me straight!!

I'm back in Herts now, & so can't just nip down the Llangafelach Rd to read the name on that Chapel.

I will try a Google Search though...

I managed to find that the West Glam Archive service has records for there between 1875 and 1980. Not much use for earlier years so i am wondering if maybe its a relatively new chapel. I will try and have a look later for chapels in the local area that were founded earlier.
 

Genuki has a quite a vast list of them and it mentions cardiff record office holding records for them. This could be a big task!!!

I have exactly the same problem!! I thought that people born and bred in Llangynwyd would be baptised in the church there, oh how wrong i was!!! I have since found that some went to Bettws to be baptised, none of mine there! Some went to Aberkenfig, none of mine there either! Then i found out that there was once a small chapel in Coytrahen that no longer exists and one in Llangynwyd that has been turned into a house. I am at the end of my tether but they have to be somewhere and eventually, hopefully, i will find them!
I hope you get more joy but if i can help in any other way then just let me know!
