Hi Carolyn

Welcome to Rootschat!  Posting was fine - don't worry about that.

I'm not sure that I have anything that can help you, sadly.  My George (b 1797) & Thomas Platt (b 1803) were the two sons of John Platt & Anne.  I have only found 4 children in total of the marriage.  George's son George (b 1821) was my ancestor & moved to Manchester before marriage, only moving back to inherit the house 40 years later.  Thomas didn't have any sons named George that I can find.

There is a possibility that your Platts come from a brother of John but I haven't found his baptism record conclusively yet so I have no idea about that.

Have you tried the Cheshire Records database - it isn't complete coverage but can be useful

Good luck with your search!
