Help with Treorchy Births and Census

Hi All,

Here I go, sounding stupid again!

New to family research in Wales and I am finding the areas at little confusing.

 I’m trying to find the birth and censuses for my g-gran.   She was born in Treorchy; does this come under Glamorgan or Carmarthenshire?
When searching the births and census, what area names should I be looking for?

Martha Jane Davies born c1891 - Fathers Name David Davies (Timber man in 1907)
Married John Vickers 4th Aug 1907 – Llanfair Church, Cumamman - Witnesses David D Davies & Maggie Davies   

I Have this information below after she married, but can’t find anything before she married.

The area Treorchy is ystradyfodwg . (All the Rhondda Valley)

You say llanfair church  Cumamman (Cwmaman) do you know where that is? I cannot see a Llanfair church in Llanfair in Cwmaman which comes under Aberdare Glamorgan. Do you have the right spelling?or any other info.

                                             Qtr 1st   district Pontypridd vol 11a page 585
For the Rhondda reg office would be Pontypridd.
Interesting there is also the same name for Pontadawe

May be some kind hunter will find them on the 1901 census do you know where John Vickers was born? and or David Davies?

Information on cert : Register of marriages in the district of Pontadawe

My auntie, who is full of information confirms 100% that Martha was born in Treorchy.

Advice please-  Would you go for the cert in Pontypridd?

I have most of the census on John Vickers and his family, he was born in Langley.

Martha's fathers name I got from the wedding cert.

Auntie, also confirms the Davies family was always from Pontadawe & surrounding area.

Think this is a possible, only one I could locate in the area with father David.  This is in the Tyntyla/Ystrad area.
