You inspire me to try them again. I tried once and have yet to hear back. I think I contatcted the person twice before finally giving up. Maybe I just asked the wrong person in the wrong season!!!

Hi Rosanne

Do try again - the worst result (no reply) you already have - the best results are great - my family had managed to tell me the incorrect cemetery, but my Melbourne lady checked it all out & then treked out to the correct one (after having already searched the incorrect one).

Good luck

Dear RootsChatters,-

Hi.  In my general web surfing, I came upon this site, which may help others with their 'brick walls' with FREE research.

Pleas read all the instructions very carefully! They volunteer their time for FREE. All they ask is for reimbursement of: film; video; postage; photocopying; printing, possibly petrol and parking fees.

Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - http://www.raogk.org/

Cheers, Allycat, Qld, Australia.

Hi  Alleycat

My researcher asked for nothing   -  she went way beyond what I was expecting. Given that most photos these days are digital & emailed, I guess the main cost may be petrol.

Hey there Trish, I'm very happy for you.  I guess the only way we can repay people like that is to do a good 'genie' deed in turn.  {Which is what most people do on RootsChat anyway}.  ;D

Cheerio and have a good day.  Allycat.

I contacted a person in Washington State and she went above and beyond expectations, even supplying press cuttings and contacting a friend in Vancouver who helped when my rellies were there for a while.
Lovely ladies, both of them
