Shouldn't worry, it won't matter when she's off to University.

I remember by nephew, 11 yesterday, when he started school he was basically branded dumb by the teachers because we had taught him the alphabet as in a b c but they wanted him to relearn it as the baby way.  He had real problems, he didn't understand why he had got to relearn it.

He is now in the top year of Primary school and a star pupil, top of his class for history and english.

Just goes to show!

My two sons both write like my husband and even sign their names like he does.

He says it was because they had become Master Forgers at school for letters for days off etc. Nw he thinks it is so they can embezzle money from his bank account lol

i think its because our parents help us to learn to write.
my dad held my hand with the pen and helped me form letters
dwalin

Mine is very similar to my Dad's who had to teach me to write first in Welsh and then in English ( I spoke only Welsh until I was 7 years old and they wouldn't let me into school in York until I could speak and write in English)
The strange thing is that both my parents are left handed and I am right so you would expect a lot of differences

Perhaps it's just in the genes.

I always assumed that it depended who taught you and perhaps how you wanted to write. I remember trying different styles out once. I apparently have a very neat hand (for a leftie) when i want to. Usually I write very fast and scrawl.

There are very marked national characteristics e.g. USA and France - can usually recognise them a mile off!

This is interesting  :)

My mum's printed handwriting is the same as my nan's.  However, their 'joined up' writing is different.  Maybe down to the way in which they were taught to write  ???
See the Surnames I am researching on the surname interest table

I have different writing styles. Neat, even and tidy or really quick scrawl. There are no similarities in them. My neat handwriting has some similarities to my Mum's.

A friend of mine who is a teacher can tell what I am writing just by the movement of the pen, it's scary when he tells me i've made an error when he can't SEE what i've written.
