Just in case it was a spelling error on the surname...There is a Rose Russ in Mt Hope, Brantford cemetery listings...but don't know if anyone can tell you more about that entry....J.J.

My grandparents are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, the staff there are quite helpful.  I can call them tommorrow (or might be Monday if they don't have anyone in the office) to see if they can tell me anything.

Brantford is not that far from Hamilton.

Thank you for your help jj
It is quite possible I suppose that it could be Rus or Russ
I guess we have all come across so many different spellings
in the research of out families.
I did write to four people in Hamilton with the surname Rus
some months ago and received an answer from someone only this week, now I am waiting to hear if my info makes
any sense to her.
regards  Molly

Thank you Karen
You have helped me before to track down my aunt and uncle's grave and I am very grateful for the information.
Although my aunt and uncle always lived in Hamilton from
the time they moved to Canada, it's quite likely that Rose
moved away when she married, so if you are able to check
that out at Hope cemetery without too much trouble to yourself that would be great.

Hi Molly,

Just talk to cemetery and that Rose Russ was married to Harry W. Langdale.  When you look up in the Brantford Public Library, their is a marriage of Harry and Rosalund Russ in 1935.

So, back to the drawing board.

The person who you wrote to in Hamilton and heard back from, did it sound promising that there may be a connection?

I have just finished moving yesterday so I hope to have most of the boxes and bags sorted through by the weekend. Through the summer here the city adds a cemetery bus line that goes out to the out lying cemeteries, I guess to make it more convenient for older people or anyone who doesn't drive for that matter to be able to visit the grave sites, even though Woodland is actually in Aldershot it is just outside Hamilton so also being a very large cemetery in the area they include it on the bus route. I can't remember if it is only weekends in the summer but when it cools down hopefully next week I will try making a trip out there.
so far Burse, Burs, Buss, Hunter, Campbell, Jackson, Lupton, Griffett, Bloom, and Dewyk or D'wyk.

There is now a Dan Rus on the 1911...who came from Austria in
1906...in Algoma East Tisdale.  He was at work as he is listed as a
labourer with other tradesmen (looks to be in mining territory?)
...but he's listed as married...unfortunately, either the wife / rest of
the family aren't listed yet, or have been given the wrong surname.
Phooey..( was hoping to find a son )....J.J.
