1871-1881 Census Lookup pls. EADIE family
« on: Monday 29 May 06 09:29 BST (UK) »
Hi.  Looking for details on this family please:-

Andrew EADIE born 1866 Plean to parents William EADIE and Mary Rupell RUSSELL.  Andrew EADIE's Death Certificate states that his father's occupation was a coal miner.  No other children's names are yet known born to this couple.  Hoping Census data will reveal more information.

Andrew EADIE married in 1897 to Mary Jane COULTER.  His Death Certificate states that they were married at Falkirk, Scotland.  And her Death Certificate states that they were married at Camelon, Stirlingshire, Scotland.  Sorry, but did the placenames change or what?

Additional info, in 1926 Andrew & Mary EADIE emigrated to New Zealand with their 12 children.  I'm trying to trace these details for my mother-in-law as they were her grandparents.

All information graciously received.  Thank you.  Allycat in Australia.

Hi allycat,

No the place names didn't change. Camelon is one of the many 'villages' just on the outskiks of Falkirk.

If you go to Multimap and key in Camelon, you'll get an idea of it's whereabouts.

Have you tried Scotland's People for more info? (www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk). You should be able to trace births etc., at that site and then view/download the details. It's a pay per view site but well worth it .

Anne

Dear Anne, thank you for your reply and suggestions.  Then the couple must have been married at Camelon.  Shall go lookies at that multimap thingy.  Bye, Allycat in Australia.
