I have just found William (Mary's father) on the 1871 census.  Harrison transcribed as Nainsonter :P (maybe that is my French connection!!!!).  I eventually found it by putting in Elizabeth bc1830 in Portishead, living in Warrington.  No Mary as yet though!  I'll keep you posted!

Here you go (in 1871): she's a confectioner's assistant in Warrington on a very faded page, transcribed as Mary I. Borreson, 17, b Bristol, Gloucestershire:  RG10/3903 folio 73 page 4.

Quite remarkable that the same surname can be transcribed as Nainsonter and Borreson!   ;D
