Katie Stewart was my grandmother she married John McInnes in 1910 at Stonehouse, not long after that they came to Australia unfortunately John died in ww1 that's when Katie married my grandfather William Bell.
most of this happened at Stonehouse Stirlingshire but not all
Now Katie's parents where Thomas & Margaret Stewart nee Bruce and on the 1891 census it lists the following
Thomas age 41?
Margaret age 38 (Maggie)
Janet age 16
Matthew age 12
Jane age 10
John age 9
Lizzy age 7 (Elizabeth)
Maggie age ? (Margaret)
Katie age 1
on their marriage cert it states that their parents where
Thomas
Matthew Stewart and Janet Stewart nee Craig
Margaret's
John Bruce and Margaret Bruce nee Somers or Summers
on a Matthews death cert I found he died 18/5/1867 he was married to a Janet Craig his parents where
Matthew Stewart and Janet Stewart nee Wilson
also on a census for 1871 there is a listing for a
Matthew Stewart age 32
Elizabeth age 31
Elizabeth age 1
but on another 1871 census i found this
Janet Stewart head age 51
Mathew son age 28?
Catherine dau age 13
Ann Smith g/dau age 5
Janet Milville? g/dau age 1
John Shearer boarder age 55
cannot get a lot of cert as it has to be ordered with Scotlands People and didnt have much luck with IGI (some not much)
Can anyone help with info? It would be appreciated muchly.
