Hi clairenorman39

Yes, I think most genealogical software can present at least 10 generations.

I have an old version of Family Tree Maker that presents 13 generations with its All-in One Tree Tree.  It has options about how much information or how many generations you want to include in its various charts/reports.

The only report that can list an entire family tree in a A4 width view seems to be the Outline Descendancy Report.  The chart style ancestry and pedigree reports can be over a metre wide so you have to scroll horizontally and vertically to see what is going on, and that is just with a default limit of 4 generations.  It depends how big your family is.

If you want something to display on your wall without sticking lots of A4 sheets together, some companies produce charts you can fill in by hand - when I was looking for something similar, I came across these websites:

Doubtless there are others!

I have Family Historian which lets you do all manner of charts.  I'm still getting to grips with it so don't ask me how to use it  ::) ::) ::)

Thanks for the links Rambler, I will have a go at them - looks better than my old peice of wallpaper  ;)

I deliberately avoided the subject of printing charts.

Because data is always changing once you have printed a chart it is out of date.  I learnt that through experience.  I have bin full of out of date charts.

I've got an old copy of some software called Family Tree.  It prints out various charts including my ancestry chart which was on 10 sheets of A4 paper. :o

My boss at work said put it on pdf and bring it in and print it on the plotter then you won't have to stick it all together. :) :)

Well, I'm glad she wasn't there to see because when I printed it out it enlarged it a bit and it was like a roll of wallpaper.  It kept coming and coming and coming.  It looks great on my wall but I don't think I'll do it when I make any amendments.  I don't want them to think I'm taking the p.  ::) ::) ::) ::)

I've just downloaded the LDS PAF software (free version) and noticed that on the 'number of generations'  box on the print preferences menu, the default setting is set to a maximum of 999 generations.

So if you have traced your family tree back to Adam and Eve you should be able to print the lot!
