Awards for the best family trees
« on: Thursday 01 June 06 11:08 BST (UK) »
Has anyone started a best family tree award yet?

It seems as you trawl the internet you come across all kinds of family trees that present their information in different ways.  Possibly we should nominate certain websites on the following criteria:-

Category: best layout
Category: most informative
Category: best researched

Nominations please.

I appreciate it is not really a contest but it would be nice if there was a preferred style that the majority seem to like that incorporates a system most people can follow.

downside
Sussex: Floate, West
Kent: Tuffee
Cheshire: Gradwell
Lancashire: Gradwell

Hi Jinks (no pun intended)

It's nice simple site, it makes a change from all those people who think they need to incorporate lots of flashy animations and graphics.  I guess we like sites where we have gained extra knowledge about our specific families.  It's so refreshing to visit a site without any advertising  :)

So I found this site to be of great interest:-

http://www.mandywillard.co.uk/

It is a nice layout and is very informative.

I agree it is quite a simple side
the one I nominate, but the information on
the Kelsall family is the best I have found on
the web.

I think it was quite an early website because
its years since I found it.

If you keep clicking the continue it seems to go
on forever.

Hi Jinks

The biggest collection of names I've come across is:-

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jglanville/homepage.htm

It's very barebones style of layout, but since Jay seems to be related to everyone on earth it usually has something useful there for nearly everyone.
